Busy Weekend - Beautiful Weather

Happy Monday! Here we are and another week passed somehow. Last week on Monday I had the day off and ended up taking advantage of the nice weather and went into St. Polten for the afternoon. Had some gelato and wandered around browsing the shops. The rest of the week I had to work so nothing too eventful. Tried to go for some walks prior to my work start at 2pm. And had lunch with my aunt on Thursday. We went to a neat Balkan restaurant in St. Polten.

The weekend went by really fast too as it was jam packed with plans. Saturday I went to Salzburg. Took the train that got me there a little after 11am and wandered around for a while. And eventually met up with Gerti at 1pm. We walked to Sternbrau where Gerti had made reservations for lunch. Was great to see everyone again and of course enjoy a delicious lunch. The Rupertikirtag was also going on which is basically a huge fair with rides and lots of stands with food and drink. And a ton of people in traditional outfits, dindl and lederhosen. Was a lot of fun to watch. Kathrin's young son Finn was also enjoying going on rides and the general atmosphere. Eventually made my way back to the train station and was back at the house just before 8.30pm. So not so bad. Ended up watching some TV with my mom (Starnacht)

Sunday I headed into Vienna. Had plans to see my friends Johannes and Lydia. Lydia ended up canceling last minute as she just had knee surgery recently and is still recovering. Totally understandable of course. Had brunch with Johannes at a cafe in the 1st district. Always nice to catch up. Then afterwards made my way over to Rathausplatz where they had some event going on. Hung out there for a while before taking the U1 to Kagran. Had some delicious trout at Ufertaverne on the Old Danube. Afterwards got back on the U1 and decided to get off on Danube Island. Decided to hang out there for a while and soak up the pretend beach feel since the weather was really nice. Definitely the last summer weekend of the season. So made sure to make the most of it. The way back ended up being a bit of a pain as the train I chose ended up being delayed and therefore missed my connection and had to wait for almost for an hour for the next train. Ended up being back around 8.30pm again so not too too late.

Today the weather is definitely a lot more dreary already but supposed to still be pretty decent temperature wise. Then tomorrow it's supposed to cool off and become more unstable. We will see how it goes.
